Ayo! I'm Thibault Picquoin, the owner of this space. Nice to meet you! I'm an independent artist, director, and animator based in Montreal, Canada, originally from Toulouse, France, born on March 18, 1997. I graduated with a BFA from Concordia University in 2024. My art education began at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan, continued at ESMA in Toulouse, and was completed at Concordia University in Montreal. My animation style is versatile, joyful, and multimedia. I love exploring various techniques and colors, mastering under-camera, stop motion, 2D drawing, After Effects, and more to create a unique universe where they all coexist.
THE LONGER STORY ...
I was born on March 18th in Toulouse, a beautiful city in the south of France also known as the Pink City. Everyday was all about morning cartoons, DVD nights and outings to the Cinema CGR, which defined my early years. Living a quiet life in a tiny village, real adventure and life began for me only when the lights turned off and the screen lit up. From then on, I knew I wanted to be a part of that world someday. After several years in different fields, including sports studies and earning a Master’s degree in marketing, I decided to do an exchange program in Tokyo in 2018. Studying at Keio University for my Master’s was an incredible experience, marked by personal growth and self-realization. It also marked the beginning of my art studies, as I took drawing, philosophy, and art history classes for the first time. Upon returning from Japan, I was ready to dive into my lifelong passion, cinema; specifically animation. In 2020, I began my animation journey at ESMA in Toulouse, a 3D animation school where I discovered and developed what would become my animation style. Afterward, I moved to Montreal, Canada, to further hone my skills. After three years of studying film animation at Concordia University, I graduated in 2024, ready for new adventures.
